This virtual course will focus on fabricating a set of tube set gemstone and sterling silver rings that can be stacked together or worn solo on different fingers! Learn to add a contemporary element and extra dimension to your stacking rings with gemstones and varying tube setting heights!

Applying the right finish to a piece of jewelry is one of the most important aspects of creating successful work. There are countless ways to finish jewelry, from the flawless mirror finish seen in commercial jewelry, to the matte brushed finish popular with many art jewelers. In this workshop, students will learn industry level tips, tricks, and techniques, while producing several of these finishes on numerous ring blanks. Students are also encouraged to bring in personal work to get feedback and suggestions on how to finish it.

Keum Boo provides a cost efficient means of introducing high-karat gold to jewelry designs while simultaneously adding texture, pattern, and color. Embellishment techniques such as roller printing and adding a patina, will also be demonstrated to enhance and emphasize metal surfaces.The class will be a combination of teacher demonstrations with ample time built in for student practice and fabrication.

Rings, rings, rings! In this 2-day workshop, students will learn to fabricate numerous styles of rings, including a band ring with a set cabochon stone, a tube-set faceted gemstone ring, a 3-band intertwined Russian wedding band, and a spinner ring *time permitting! Wendy will teach students to saw, file, use a torch to anneal and solder, hammer, form, polish, and many more fundamental and transferable metalsmithing skills that will result in some beautiful rings
