    Explore the traditional techniques of fabricating basket settings. Students will learn to create basket settings in a variety of shapes including round, oval, and pear. These techniques will be used to create a pair of lovely stud earrings, as well as a pendant. Students will be taught proper hand positioning and bur control, how to cut the perfect seat, and a variety of ways to shape the prong. This class is intended for intermediate students and above.

    Take your fabrication skills to the next level by learning how to create a tap and die mechanism to create a bangle bracelet with screw closure! This class teaches building a simple bangle bracelet in two halves, approximately 6mm wide, fit close to the wrist and assembled on the wrist with two screws. One or many interchangeable ornaments can be screwed on to the bracelet depending on your design and could include a set stone or pearl, as well as a found object. Concepts and techniques demonstrated during the workshop will include metric and English screw forms, and how to calculate blanks

    In this one-day workshop, learn to make the Viking Knit chain, an ancient chain design that is completely knit by hand. The technique produces a tubular chain that is supple, lightweight, and beautiful to wear. Variations on the basic Viking chain stitch, using a knitting spool or crotchet hook, adding seed beads, as well as bi-color, tri-color, and other color combinations will also be demonstrated.
