    This workshop will focus on adorning the wrist by designing and making a variety of bracelets. Students will explore many designs; from the simple bangle bracelet to more dynamic cuffs and layered bracelets. Techniques such as embossing, hammer patterning, fusing, forging and fabrication will be demonstrated. This workshop exposes the student to the rich tradition of classical techniques as well as the practical shortcuts for making work efficiently.

    Ring in the holiday season by forming and fabrication your very own jingle bell! Over the course of just one day, students can expect to learn the forming techniques needed to create a bell that rings. Participants will first cut out their bell shape from flat NuGold sheet metal, then using dapping punches and blocks they will hammer the form of the jingle bell, and finish off by polishing and adding wire for hanging.

    Celebrate the holidays with a handmade ornament!  Ornaments can make for a perfect gift, honor a loved one, or even commemorate a special occasion.  In collaboration with Halstead and the Metalwerx Ornamental Peace Project, this class will teach students how to design and fabricate an ornament using traditional metalsmithing techniques.     When you think about it, the standard ring is a very simple form: a squat tube or a torus. Typically, we make these rings out of precious materials such as gold, silver, platinum, and so on.
