OVERVIEW
Virtual Teaching Assistants (VTAs) are a core part of the Metalwerx online education experience, offering guidance, answering questions, and helping students and instructors before, during, and after class. Serving as a VTA also offers the opportunity to work alongside, assist, and learn from the incredible artists and instructors who teach at Metalwerx. The VTA role is a great opportunity for emerging artists seeking mentors and teaching experience, makers looking for part-time work, or anyone interested in metalsmithing and jewelry education.
VTAs are a remote part-time role. Monthly hours will depend on how many classes you are assigned. The ideal VTA has a regular availability to teach daytime or evening classes, has experience in metalsmithing or jewelry making, and is comfortable working with virtual learning technology including Zoom, CMS platforms, and email.
VTA opportunities are available starting in March through the rest of 2025. Prior experience in class topics is required to be assigned to a class and VTAs will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. VTAs must be able to attend a monthly meeting with Metalwerx to review best practices, upcoming classes, scheduling, and more.
