ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

Metalwerx is a nonprofit school and community studio located in Waltham, MA, and is committed to promoting the art of jewelry and metals through exceptional classes, workshops, studio space, programming and events for personal and professional development.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator provides critical customer-facing support as it relates to our educational offerings, community memberships and fundraising events. Previously planned as a part-time position, the role has been expanded to provide more robust support for the Program Manager and our growing array of onsite and virtual classes. The role is onsite Tuesday through Saturday.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet onsite visitors, instructors and guests, providing customer service as needed. 
  • Assist Program Manager across all aspects of course needs such as course listings, participant inquiries, registration, waitlists, tracking, notifications, rosters, handling instructor contracts and purchase orders, etc.
  • Provide tactical enrollment support such as monitoring and mining waitlists to optimize enrollments.
  • Update participant and instructor contact information in CRM platform as it becomes available.
  • Schedule onsite and virtual teaching assistants.
  • Build out course information on the website.
  • Coordinate with office administrator as needed to communicate with participants about payment related issues.
  • Provide support at Metalwerx events, activities, and opening/closing the school.
  • Process and track scholarship applications.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to private lessons, open studio scheduling, and membership.
  • Provide planning and executional support for fundraising events and special initiatives.
  • Send thank you notes to donors, instructors, and other Metalwerx constituents as needed.
  • Support marketing efforts by creating social media content (photos, videos) and performing other tasks as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Power Point; experience with CiviCRM and/or Quickbooks a plus
  • Database management skills
  • Detail-oriented and reliable with consistent follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in the midst of a busy office environment
  • Experience with an arts education organization is a plus
  • Strong background in metal arts and/or jewelry making, BFA in metal arts a plus

 

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time onsite position at Metalwerx Studio in Waltham, MA from Tuesday through Saturday.
