Tira Mitchell is an artist, hand engraver, stone setter and teacher. Since 1995, Tira has created unique expressions in metal. From setting white sapphires in titanium to inlaying 24 kt. gold into intricately engraved custom knives, Tira's work incorporates elegant artwork, both traditional & cutting-edge media, and master craftsmanship. Tira is known for challenging large format projects like Donnie Smith’s Gibson Guitar® anniversary motorcycle and the 1,500,000th Martin Guitar® "DaVinci Unplugged."

Tira's passion is to promote the art and education of hand engraving. To this end Tira has been the administrator for the Engraver's Café hand engraving forum since its inception in 2006 and has completed a four-year term as Treasurer and Board Member of the Firearms Engravers Guild of America. She has taught and demonstrated engraving techniques since 2008. Tira's work is displayed on-line at her website TiraMitchell.com and she is the owner and driving force behind Engraver.com, a site for innovative stone setting and hand engraving tools.
