Pulse Arc Welding Tips with Adam of Gesswein

Precision pulse arc welding has revolutionized the jewelry world. This technology is known to be a useful tool to increase efficiency with basic bench tasks such as ring sizing, working near heat-sensitive stones, and repairing porous castings; but can go well beyond these general jobs to include tacking complex pieces before soldering and welding long seems for hollowware construction.

Metalwerx is very grateful that Gesswein has generously donated one of Lampert’s PUK welders to our studio!  To celebrate, we are inviting our community to come by, try it out and learn more about this incredible technology.

This free seminar will cover some of the many tricks and uses this equipment offers with the opportunity to ask questions and then get hands-on!  Watch and learn how to ball up a silver wire near a pearl or bead, securely close chain maille links, and tack bails or settings to a pendant before soldering.

We are thrilled to welcome Adam Kasson to our studio for this presentation.  He has been working for Gesswein for 4 years and also comes from a family of talented jewelers.  He used to work in his family’s jewelry and watch business in Southport, Connecticut before starting at Gesswein.

NOTE: There will be base metals available for students to experiment with on the welder at the end of the demonstration.
