To the Point! Settings for Fancy Cut Stones with Points & Edges
This comprehensive 3-day skill-building workshop is for experienced jewelers looking to add high caliber stone setting skills to their jewelry making repertoire! Throughout the course we’ll cover setting techniques for three common fancy-cut stone shapes: pear, marquise, and princess - all beautiful but tricky stone shapes to set! As we move through projects, students will hone their precision seat-cutting skills while cultivating a deeper understanding of setting mechanics. By the end of class, students will leave with new tools, incredible techniques, and stunning jewelry!
Topics covered will include precision flex-shaft work, custom tool-making and modification, graver techniques, v-tip setting, beading, and bright cutting.
