Fused, Patterned, Textured, Layered: The Rolling Mill and More

This demonstration-based virtual class introduces students of all levels to pattern and texture as a vital element of jewelry design through a rich variety of techniques. Special focus will be on using Argentium  silver in new ways and combining it with the rolling mill to create one of a kind and reproduceable textures. Fusion of Argentium, sheet and wire will be combined with roller embossing, stamping, and solder inlay to create a variety of distinctive surfaces and textures. Students will be encouraged to make samples and experiment with incorporating these techniques into their own jewelry. Demonstrations include fusion, soldering patterned surfaces, fabrication and applying milled patterns to create a variety of jewelry pieces.
