Felted Jewelry

Handmade felt is created by taking cleaned and carded wool fleece and manipulating the fibers to link together, either by dry-felting with a barbed needle or wet-felting with hot water and soap. Wet felted items are then "fulled", which shrinks and hardens the felt.

This one day workshop will show students how to create easy, colorful and funky wet-felted beads, flowers, and lariats, from start to finish. Come to understand how fibers of wool roving are needle-felted, then fulled with hot water and rolling. Students should be able to complete a number of beads, as well as a flower and lariat during the class.
