Charon Kransen Book Sale

Shop through a special collection of rare jewelry and metalsmithing books in this pop-up book sale! Charon Kransen will join us at Metalwerx on June 17-18 with a broad variety of publications all related to jewelry, from technical to historical, contemporary and more. Featured titles include:

  • 25,000 YEARS OF JEWELRY: Drawn from the extensive holdings of the Staaliche Museen zu Berlin (Berlin State Museums), this collection of jewelry from the Paleolithic Era to the present day links cultures and eras to show how the design, wearing, and collecting of personal adornment has evolved over the ages.

  • JEWELRY TECHNOLOGY IN THE ANCIENT & MEDIEVAL WORLD: A comprehensive overview 4,500 years of jewelry techniques from the dawn of the bronze age to the end of the Medieval period, including chapters on design, gold refining and testing, the perennial problem of fakes, and more.

  • DANIEL KRUGER JEWELLERY: THE UNEXPECTED MEANING OF CURIOUS THINGS: This new monograph presents Kruger's jewelry art of the last ten years. Inspired by movement and his fascination with the visual quality of materials and objects, shapes and colors, he creates a synthesis of supposed opposites and it is this new context that elevates these connections into something precious.

  • ESTHER BRINKMANN: The work of Brinkmann is characterized by the meaning she bestows on the ring and its relationship to the hand. The Swiss artist prefers processed and textured materials, including component forms, techniques, and substances from her time living in China and India. This publication presents Brinkmann’s oeuvre from the past 30 years and highlights for the first time the remarkable strength and the freedom that distinguish the artist’s career.
