Add Color and Creativity to Your Decals

Using Thompson Enamel marking crayons and China paints can add color and creativity to your decals.

 1. You can use a small paintbrush on the top of the crayon mixed with a little distilled water and paint directly on your fired decal. Or use a paint mixing tray to blend your own colors. Fire until glossy after drying.

2. The China paints usually come in small glass vials and need to be mixed with enameling oil to a smooth consistency. I do this with a palette knife on a piece of glass using a circular motion until the paint is smooth. It should be about the consistency of toothpaste. You can keep the mixed paints indefinitely, just cover to keep clean. Simply paint directly on your pre-enameled piece, let dry and fire.
