    This introduction workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn the basic process of beginner small-scale casting.  Students will begin with using simple household items such as water, straw and even beans to pour molting metal into! The result castings can then be transformed into a ring or pair of earrings.  The second part of the class will focus on delft or sand casting.

    In this fun and festive workshop, students will create a variety of simple silver drink and appetizer picks and related items perfect for a cocktail party or just everyday use.  Make singles, make sets, make mixes and matches!  After some instructor demonstrations, students will fabricate a couple of practice pieces in copper utilizing the torch, cutting and forming tools, flex shaft, and imagination for design and then progress to designing and fabricating the “real” ones.  This course is designed for everyone—for the novice to the experienced.   Argentium silver will be used in this cours

    In this fun one-day workshop, students will learn a quick and easy way to make forged bangle bracelets! We will begin by forming a full stack of bangles, we will then solder the bangles and hammer forge them into different shapes and designs. We will discuss what it means to hammer forge metal and how to best control your hammer mark! Each bangle can be made with a different texture or forged design ro designed as a uniform set. Attention will also be paid to creating small charms that can be added to the bangles for and extra flair!

    This Chain maille is a two thousand-year-old art form originally used to create garments worn for protection by warriors from Europe, the Middle East and the Orient. Modern approaches use these classical patterns of cold-connected jump rings for sculpture and jewelry. For these non-traditional applications, hundreds of new patterns have been invented.

    Explore filing in depth and refine a critically important skill that all metalsmiths should have. Students will learn about the various types of files out there, their applications, how they function, and how to use them to greater effect. In addition, students will also learn how to use this deceptively simple hand tool to add embellishments to their work through decorative filing techniques.
