This will be an introduction and overview of all the ways that gold, and other metals, can be applied or inlaid into precious and non-precious metals. Techniques from industrial to small studio operations will be explained, including cold inlay methods, pressure welding, flame spraying, resist plating, making doubleé, gold painting, and more.

A three-session virtual class that focuses on using Argentium silver wire and understanding the process of fusing in multiple gauge thicknesses to make a variety of work highlighting the element of line and line work. Students will explore point fusion, wire to wire fusion, and more to make chains, band rings, earrings, and bracelets.

This virtual class will cover various approaches for hand carving wax prototypes for larger, bezel-set faceted stones. Class topics will focus on design options and aesthetics, structural aspects for durability and longevity, wax types, and tool needs. Class will conclude with how to finish a wax model and proper spruing methods. Casting will not be covered.

In this demo-focused virtual workshop, Bonnie will demonstrate a variety of techniques that she has employed over the years in making some of her favorite cane designs, capitalizing on the unique qualities of translucent polymers. Students will learn to construct four different simple canes that create big effects. They will then learn to apply those patterns in a variety of ways in their polymer projects.
