At Your Service: Spoons!

This demo-centered virtual class will focus on the design and creation of objects for dining, with specific emphasis placed on the design and history of spoons. Learn to make a variety of spoons, from sugar and salt to ice cream! Techniques such as forging, forming, fabrication, fusing and fold forming will be demonstrated. We will be using Argentium silver, in combination with other metals and found objects. Weekly discussions will address design, model making, the rich tradition of classical techniques as well as the practical shortcuts for making work efficiently.
