Kinetics and Complex Construction for the Hand

This workshop will focus on movement and kinetics as a design tool for fabrication of pieces for the hand in Argentium silver. Bangles with moving parts and cocktail rings that rotate and wiggle when worn may all be considerations for designs that students will create in class. Learn tips and trick for design and fabrication that incorporate gemstones and also focus on shortcuts and tips for fusion and soldering more complicated forms. Morning demonstrations will take up the first part of class each day and then students will have time to work independently with guidance and feedback from the teacher. This is a great opportunity for those who have some experience in soldering and fabrication but would like to refine and expand their skills and design possibilities. Discover shortcuts in construction and new approaches for designing with wire.
