Jewelry 1

This introductory course will focus on the design process and basic fabrication techniques of jewelry making and metalsmithing. In this class, students will begin with a sample project to practice design, layout and construction of a small decorative metal piece.  This will serve as a guide to practice using basic tools and techniques for sawing, soldering, texturing and polishing. Using these skills students will design and construct a custom pendant, ring and/or earrings. Additional demonstrations including bezel setting and riveting will be included during this course.
