This course is currently full. Spaces do occasionally open up so if you would like to be put on the wait list please call our office at 781-891-3854 or email [email protected]

This course presents a selection of methods for creating hinges, catches and findings, with special attention given to simplifying these mechanisms for assured, secure results. Time will be divided between an array of demonstrations followed by participant work time, so students have the opportunity to create samples of each technique. Various skill levels will be addressed, but a basic knowledge of jewelry and metalsmithing techniques is required.

Pat Flynn is a goldsmith who lives and works in High Falls, New York. He is known for both his elegant bracelets and necklaces that combine blackened steel with 22 and 18k gold, platinum, diamonds and pearls, and for his meticulous hinges and latches. His work has been featured in "Metalsmith" magazine and, most recently, included in Masters of Stone Setting by Alan Revere. More of Pat's work can be found on his website, patflynninc.com.
