Fine Silver Granulation

Course Description

About this course

Granulation has long been revered for its intricate beauty and its mysterious quality. As students move through the process of creating, laying out, and fusing fine silver granules, a new twist will be introduced - the use of a unique flux formula that provides a wider temperature range in which to work. Each student will create a hydraulic domed and granulated ‘cabochon’ that will then be bezel or prong set in a sterling ring.

This workshop is perfect for students who want to learn the intricacies of granulation without the expense of working in gold. Anyone who wants to refine or redefine working on a ‘tiny’ scale could also benefit from this workshop.
