Ms. Karen Christians

There are two passions in Karens life. One is metalsmithing and the other is community. Karen states, After three years in adult education for jewelry and then art school, what I took away from the experience was not only an appreciation in the education of metals, but more importantly, the energy of collaboration and community. Metalwerx is all these things and I am very, very lucky.

Karen earned her BFA in Metals at the Massachusetts College of Art in 1997. In 1998 she started Metalwerx with her friend, Jennifer Bowie. In 2002, she began to run Metalwerx solo, while her partner began the contemporary craft gallery, Picklepot Studio in Salem, MA.

Karen teaches workshops throughout the US, is very active in Ganoksin.com, and recently has authored the book, Making the Most of Your Flex-shaft.

Making the Most of Your Flex-shaftMaking the Most of Your Flex-shaft is the one resource you will need to ensure you gain maximum advantage from your flex-shaft system.
